Among his numerous awards, last year he became one of just three guitarists to win the prestigious Gold Medal of the Royal Over- Seas League Competition. Brockfield Hall is the family home of Charlie and Hatta Wood. Built in 1804, and designed by Peter Atkinson, partner of John Carr of York, Charlie inherited the house from his grandfather Martin Fitzalan Howard and together with Hatta, editor of House and Garden, they have recently restored it, winning the 2023 Sothebys Historic Houses Association Restoration Award. The house is home to the largest private collection of paintings by the Staithes Group Artists.
