Welcome to the exciting launch of a brand-new annual vocal competition of national significance. From its inception, The Northern Aldborough Festival has striven to support and nurture young musical talent and now, with the generous support of sponsors, the Festival is able to launch a competition like no other.
New Voices aims to find the finest classical voices in the UK today, whether soloists or small ensembles, aged between 21 and 32. Open to new up-and-coming talent, the top prize is £5000, with £1500 for the runner-up and £500 for the winner of the Audience Prize, with a network of partner festivals across the UK creating valuable concert opportunities for the finalists. In the semi-finals, watch the solo singers and ensembles battle it out in front of a prestigious panel including Dame Felicity Lott, conductor Christian Curnyn and pianist Joseph Middleton for a place in the Grand Final.
