A bona-fide star in her home country, at the young age of 22 Adriana Babin has already won several major prizes and performed all over the world. She has also been invited to perform on television including Germany’s ‘Stars von Morgen’ at the invitation of tenor Rolando Vilazzon. The warm, rich and haunting sound of the pan flute, one of the most ancient of instruments and widely used in Eastern European folk traditions, is rarely heard in classical music. In Adriana’s hands it is a thing of beauty.
At eight years old, Adriana Babin had already given her first concert as a soloist with a national folk orchestra. After two years of Pan Flute at the prestigious George Enescu Conservatory from Romania, she studied at the Amsterdam Conservatorium. She is a laureate and first prize winner in various competitions such as the “Orpheus” competition in Romania where she won the Grand Prix and other important prizes in Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria.She also has collaborated with orchestras including Orchestre National de France, Moldovan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Paris Symphony Orchestra, and was invited to star in Rolando Vilazzon’s “Stars von Morgen”. In 2017 Adriana was awarded a scholarship from the President of the Moldovan Parliament and an award for particularly remarkable results in representing her country at international level by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Moldova.
